Persistence is a six foot long robotic arm

Persistence is a six foot long robotic arm that uses 92 addressable ultraviolet LED’s to draw on a giant phosphorescent canvas. Participates can sketch a drawing on MB Lab’s website and then watch the machine burn the creation directly onto the canvas over live streaming video. The machine communicates to a web server through Wi-Fi via a home-brewed API. The project was completed in 10 days with a team of 8 amazing developers and creators. It was the winning submission piece that awarded the team a seat in Red Bull’s 2013 Creation Challenge Competition in NYC.
